By: Перфильева, Ксения ГригорьевнаContributor(s): Усанина, Анна СергеевнаMaterial type: ArticleArticleContent type: Текст Media type: электронный Other title: The effect of temperature difference between the particle and medium on the hydrodynomic drag coefficient [Parallel title]Subject(s): Online resources: Click here to access online In: С. 274-276Abstract: А method and results of an experimental studying the motion of solid spherical particle in a viscous liquid (glycerin, polydimethylsiloxane liquids PMS-10000 and PMS-30000) at a temperature difference between particles and medium in the range of small Reynolds numbers (Re < 1) are presented. Based on the obtained results, it is shown the drag coefficient is decreased when the particle is heated, and increases when it cools. Empirical dependences of the sedimentation rate of a particle under non-isothermal conditions are obtained.
