The lexical and semantic model of the terminological field «Building Materials» in the Russian language is presented. The core explicating the general meaning of the field is revealed as well as the core zone, which contains basic, main, derived and complex terms and the zone of the periphery, which includes preterms, terminoids and nomenclature units are distinguished.
