Данная статья приурочена к юбилею знаменитого исследователя и классика марксистской философии – Ф. Энгельса. В ней даётся обзор его творческого наследия и подчеркивается важность рецепции этого наследия для современных изысканий в различных областях общественной жизни. Особое внимание уделяется попыткам осмысления творчества Энгельса относительно вопросов семьи и брака. Автор приходит к выводу, что материалистическое понимание истории общества и его институтов – это инструментарий необходимый для объективного понимания социальной реальности. This article is timed to the anniversary of the famous researcher and classic of Marxist philosophy – F. Engels. It provides an overview of his creative heritage and emphasizes the importance of the reception of this heritage for modern research in various areas of social life. Particular attention is paid to attempts to comprehend the work of Engels on issues of family and marriage. The author comes to the conclusion that the materialistic understanding of the history of society and its institutions is a toolkit necessary for an objective understanding of social reality.
