Digitization has drastically altered how people engage in time and space. While there are many potential ways to classify the digital nomad, this approach looks at how individuals might experience embodiment and disembodiment. In reality, the digital nomad is a very embodied typological form of a greater phenomenon. They are living out a representation of the freedom they experience through the use of Information & Communication Technologies (ICT’s) in the digital realm. The ten categories proposed are the purposeful nomad, the rejectors, the adventure nomad, the unintentional nomad, the engineers, the digitally branded individuals, the digital resident, the invisible digital, the digital farmer, and the café gamer.
