The research tools involved R. Inglehart’s World Values Survey, E. Yu. Mandrikova’s Self-Organisation of Activity Questionnaire, N. M. Lebedeva and A. N. Tatarko’s Self-Assessment of Personality’s Innovative Qualities questionnaire and the Big 5 Openness scale. The study sample was made up of230 university students from Tomsk and Saint Petersburg. Factor and regression analyses were performed to identify psychological parameters to characterize innovativeness as one’s readiness for innovative activity. The study results revealed that taking risk for achievement, creativity, orientation to the future and openness to experience are essential to explain one’s readiness for creating something new. Furthermore, to characterize one’s readiness for implementing iimovations, one should take into account openness to experience, self-organization of activity and adherence to traditional values.Библиогр.: с. 1595-1596
