P. 1380-1387Abstract: Algorithm for planning and performing lidar and path measurements of the meteorological parameters of the atmosphere is presented. Wavelengths promising for measuring the humidity and temperature of the atmosphere on tropospheric paths are determined. Lidar signals are calculated to determine humidity profiles and random errors in reconstruction of humidity and temperature profiles at these wavelengths using an overtone CO laser as a radiation source. The feasibility of determining the background water vapor concentrations on short paths using a Sr laser is demonstrated.
