P. 219-232Abstract: The mathematical model of unsteady heat transfer in the thermionic thermal protection system during high-enthalpy heating is studied numerically. The effect of evaporation of electrons from the emitter surface on reduction of the temperature of the multilayered shell of the thermionic thermal protection system is demonstrated. The influence of some heat transfer agents in the composite shell on the regimes of heat transfer in the body is considered. Qualitative agreement of the calculated results with available data is obtained.
