The analysis of the state of innovative development of Russia in relation to other countries of the world is carried out. The theoretical aspects of the system of financing innovative activities in the Russian Federation have been studied, the sources of financing for innovative activities have been identified. The directions of financing innovations by industries and regions of the Russian Federation have been studied. Established cause-and-effect relationships for the emergence of problems in the field of financing innovations. As a result, recommendations are given for improving the system of financing innovative activities in the Russian Federation.
