базе Томского государственного университета. Даётся общая характеристика деятельности Институтов Конфуция и оценивается потенциал их
работы в качестве средства политики «мягкой силы» Китайской Народной
Республики. In this article the author briefly examines the history of the emergence of Confucius
Institutes as an independent organization. The geographical scope of the organization is
described and the most involved in this system countries are emphasized. The author
determines the place of the Russian Federation in the worldwide network of Confucius
Institutes and describes the activity of the Confucius Institute in Tomsk State University.
The general characteristics of the activities of the Confucius Institutes are given and
the potential of their work as a tool of “soft power” policy of the People’s Republic of
China is assessed.
