Introduction -- Physics at the High Energy Frontier -- Physics Beyond the Standard Model: Supersymmetry -- Possible Signatures of Supersymmetry at the Large Hadron Collider -- Experimental Set-Up -- Event Reconstruction for Proton-Proton collisions -- Search for Supersymmetry: Using MT2 as Discovery Variable -- Search for Supersymmetry in Hadronic Events Using MT2 at ps = 8 TeV -- Assessment of a Search for Stop Pair Production in Dileptonic Events -- Upgrade Efforts for the Compact Muon Solenoid Detector -- Physics Performance Study for the Pixel Detector Phase-I Upgrade -- Evolution Studies of the CMS Electromagnetic Calorimeter Endcap Signals -- Summary.
In: Springer eBooksSummary: The project reported here was a search for new supersymmetric particles in proton-proton collisions at the LHC. It has produced some of the world’s best exclusion limits on such new particles. Furthermore, dedicated simulation studies and data analyses have also yielded essential input to the upgrade activities of the CMS collaboration, both for the Phase-1 pixel detector upgrade and for the R&D studies in pursuit of a Phase-2 endcap calorimeter upgrade.
